Life is one gigantic marathon competition, and we are always going back to the rule book to try to find loopholes that will allow us to get ahead. I'm not talking about cheating people or theft or harming others; I'm talking about acting smarter in order to maximize the return on our efforts. If Google thinks this is somehow bad juju, then they are the biggest hypocrites on Earth. The whole idea that ‘manipulating the search engines’ or ‘gaming’ the system is somehow evil, is ridiculous. Overall I’m unsure if I suffered anything in the recent rounds of blog slapping – I don’t do paid posts but my blog is on the tired old MMO theme, but I was finally given some rank FWIW.
