Interesting, it seems like a ranking penalty has been applied to yackyack.co.uk, that or some funky Korean hijack has had the effect of kicking this domain out of the rankings

Go try a search for any of my unique title strings and see what comes up! I tried, .co.uk, .com, .ie, .in, .jp google domains and all returned the same.

Here is unique page from this site.

Here is the Google result for a search for the unique string, notice that yackyack.co.uk doesn’t appear anywhere on the first pages.

The interesting thing about this apparent penalty is that pages from my domain appear in about position 60 odd for a 92 result SERP. For a unique ‘in quotes’ search it isn’t returned within the 7 results returned, yet the page concerned has both pagerank and a cached representation.

There is a slim chance that the  ‘enjoy Korea’ (see graphic) result that frames this site is having an  impact,  but it seems unlikely.

I’ve had penalties before (not here) it goes with the territory of PTASHFYCG  (push test and see how far you can get). Great for learning and ultimately harmless, well perhaps not so for me at the time, but in terms of getting to know how far you push before you break it then priceless.

I have to say, it does look like a penalty yet… OTOH, maybe someone decided it’s warranted, not for spamming or anything like that but for simply being a contrary oppositionist, I’ve certainly said a thing or two in the past that might just have put a nose or two out of joint.

Where’s that old rascal Igor when  you want him ;)

  1. That is horrible. One good thing about Yackyack is, it has facility to hear the post and I am in love with it.

  2. I am not wondered or shocked because many of my sites always show the same behavior. It is a kinda routine for me.

  3. [...] even posted a blog post a few months ago, and more or less felt it was Google just digging me out for being me or something. [...]

  4. I feel for you dude! I’ve just spent the past year working on my site. I have 25 years experience in IT and (many years ago) was one of the worlds top 6 video games programmers.

My website uses Flash. I have a 3D star field, Stunning graphics, Interactive live video streaming with Media server 3 for instant customer support, ColdFusion 8, MySQL and a really easy to use interface. It’s e-commerse enabled, there’s a business back-end that lets me do all my invoicing, accounts etc.. It’s the full fucking bollocks.

I’m using fab looking custom built Flash Forms with extra Flash just to make it look even better and (though I blow my own trumpet) is among the best looking websites I have ever seen.

The trouble is Google LOVE shit fucking websites. HTML, static, crap looking, easy to index shit.

Ever had a dump in the toilet that you can’t flush? That’s google that is. It’s a shit that always floats to the top and no matter how hard you try – no matter how many sheets of paper you try to stuff down the bowl to get rid of it, it still floats to the top.

There’s some cunt with a single page of absolute bollocks, with shit fucking graphics and it looks like he slapped it up in FrontPage in five minutes flat – who ranks #1.

He’s over 4 pages above me.

I haven’t had one single fucking phone call for my business and with all the effort I’ve put in it I think google are absolute cunts.

I have tried to optimise my site for SEO and watched my site sink even lower WTF.

    I’m with you buddy.

    Bozz

    P.S.

Thanks for letting me blow off some steam I feel a bit better now.

    P.P.S

Igor is not my real name. eeek@squiffy.com is not my email and http://anon.co.uk is not my website. If I put the real details there I’d be commiting SEO suicide.

  5. Igor – you need a good SEO matey! :)
